ORPHANS

By

Lyle Kessler

"David Oliver has a

loud production

and a daring one"

It began with much

anticipation, walking into the

New Phoenix house… It feels

as isolating as the abandoned

North Philadelphia row house

in which Treat and his younger

brother Phillip reside

Oliver also has paced both

dialogue and the many

important moments of silence

with an unnerving rhythm. This

production beats its own heart

Director David Oliver likes these looks at the other side of society. He has a strong cast here, with Tigue’s leaping around and Alcocer’s cold psychology
